The care certificate is a set of standards that social care workers in England must meet in order to show their competence in the role. The care certificate replaces the common induction standards and sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviours that social care workers need to have in order to provide high-quality, person-centred care.
The care certificate is made up of 15 standards, and social care workers must complete all of these standards in order to achieve the certificate.
