What questions will CQC ask?

Asked by: 1 views Uncategorized

As part of their work, they carry out regular inspections of care services. During these inspections, they will speak to a range of people who use the service, as well as staff members.

The CQC have published a list of the questions they are most likely to ask during an inspection. This list is not exhaustive, but it gives a good indication of the areas they will focus on.

Some of the questions they are likely to ask service users include:
– How easy is it to access the service?
– Have you been involved in planning your care and support?
– Do you feel your privacy and dignity is respected?
– Do you feel safe?
– Do you feel staff have the time to spend with you?
– Do you feel staff treat you with kindness, compassion and respect?
– Do you feel staff are competent and have the skills to meet your needs?
– Are you able to make choices about your care and support?
– Do you feel involved in decisions about your care and support?
– Is the support you receive individualised to meet your needs?
– Do you feel the service is well-led and well-managed?

Some of the questions they are likely to ask staff members include:
– How well do you know the people you support?
– Do you feel you have the time to spend with the people you support?
– Do you feel you have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the people you support?
– Do you receive regular supervision and training?
– Do you feel the service is well-led and well-managed?
– Do you feel supported by your colleagues?
– Do you feel able to raise any concerns you have?
– Do you feel confident that any concerns you raise will be listened to and acted upon?
