As part of their work, the CQC carry out inspections of care services to check whether they are meeting essential standards of quality and safety. After an inspection, the CQC will rate the service according to how well it is meeting each Essential Standard.
The CQC will ask a range of questions during an inspection, including:
· How well are people’s needs being met?
· How well are staff trained and supported?
· How well is the service being managed?
· How well are safeguarding procedures being followed?
· How well are complaints being handled?
