The six Dols assessments are:

1. The Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
The Mental Capacity Act (MCA) is designed to protect and empower adults who may lack the mental capacity to make their own decisions about their care and treatment. The MCA provides a framework within which decisions can be made on their behalf, by those who have been lawfully authorised to do so.
2. The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) are a set of legal protections that aim to ensure that any adults who are deprived of their liberty in a care setting are doing so in a safe and lawful way.
3. The Care Act
The Care Act is the main piece of legislation governing adult social care in England. It sets out the entitlements of adults to social care and support, and sets out the duties of local authorities in relation to those entitlements.
4. The Mental Health Act (MHA)
The Mental Health Act (MHA) is the primary piece of legislation governing involuntary mental health treatment in England and Wales. It sets out when and how adults with mental health problems can be detained and treated against their will, and sets out the rights of patients subject to involuntary treatment.
5. The Equality Act
The Equality Act is a piece of legislation that protects people from discrimination on the grounds of disability, among other protected characteristics. The Act applies to all aspects of life, including employment, education, and access to goods, services and premises.
6. The Human Rights Act
The Human Rights Act is a piece of legislation that gives effect to the human rights set out in the European Convention on Human Rights. The Act protects the rights of everyone in the UK, including the right to life, the right to a fair trial, and the right to freedom from torture and inhuman or degrading treatment.
