The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of all health and adult social care services in England. They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage care services to improve.
The CQC has 3 core values:
1. Putting people at the heart of everything they do – This means that the care and wellbeing of the people using services is always the priority.
2. Being open and transparent – This means being honest and transparent in everything they do, so that people can make informed choices about their care.
3. Working together – This means working with others to make sure that everyone can play their part in improving care.
