How often do you have to complete a declaration of compliance?

According to the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC’s) regulations, adult social care providers must complete a declaration of compliance every 12 months. The declaration of compliance is a document that confirms that the provider is meeting the CQC’s essential standards of quality and safety.
To complete a declaration of compliance, the provider must submit a self-assessment questionnaire and evidence to support their responses. The self-assessment questionnaire covers six key areas: safety, effectiveness, care and treatment, dignity and respect, responsiveness, andperson-centred care. The evidence that the provider submits must demonstrate that they are meeting the essential standards in each of these areas.
The CQC will review the information that the provider has submitted and will then make a judgement about whether the provider is meeting the essential standards. If the provider is not meeting the essential standards, the CQC will take action to ensure that they do so.
