How long does NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care take?

Asked by: 0 views Uncategorized

A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in health and social care at Level 3 takes, on average, around two years to complete. However, the actual time it takes to complete an NVQ depends on the individual and their availability to complete the required units. There are no set deadlines for NVQs and learners can complete the qualification at their own pace.

NVQs are work-based qualifications that are designed to assess an individual’s ability to do a specific job. The NVQ Level 3 in health and social care is aimed at those who work in a supervisory role in the health and social care sector, such as a care worker, team leader or manager.

The NVQ Level 3 in health and social care is made up of a number of units, each of which covers a different aspect of the job. The units are as follows:

Unit 1: Working in a Person-Centred Way

Unit 2: Engage in Personal Development in Health and Social Care

Unit 3: Promote Communication in Health and Social Care

Unit 4: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Health and Social Care

Unit 5: Promote Person-Centred Approaches in Health and Social Care

Unit 6: Champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Unit 7: Develop Health and Safety and Risk Management Policies, Procedures and Practices in Health and Social Care

Unit 8: Promote Professional Development in Health and Social Care

To achieve the NVQ Level 3 in health and social care, learners must complete all of the above units. The units are assessed through a combination of written assignments, observations of practice and professional discussion.
