The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates adult social care in England. If you want to start up and run an adult social care service, you must register with us.
You can register your service online. You will need to create an account and then follow the on-screen instructions. If you need any help, you can call our registration team on 03000 616161.
Once you have registered, you will be given a provider number. You will need to use this number when you fill in the annual returns that all registered providers must complete.
You will also need to tell us if anything changes about your service, for example, if you move to new premises, or change your registered manager.
We will then carry out an initial assessment to check that your service meets the essential standards of quality and safety. We will also decide what type of inspection regime your service will be subject to.
