Yes, as of April 2015, the Health and Social Care Act (2008) states that all workers in England providing regulated activity must have a care certificate.
The care certificate is a way of showing that someone working in social care has the skills, knowledge and experience to do their job. It’s made up of 15 standards that set out the skills and knowledge needed to provide safe and effective care and support.
The care certificate was developed by Skills for Care, Health Education England and the Department of Health, in partnership with employers and front-line workers.
