Any guidance for my fit person interview with the Care Inspectorate Wales?

Asked by: 0 views Uncategorized

The Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) is the independent regulator of social care and childcare services in Wales. We work to improve standards of care and support for people who use these services, and we also inspect and rate the services to make sure they are safe, caring, responsive and well-led.

As part of our registration process, all social care and childcare providers in Wales must have a suitable ‘registered person’ in post. This is someone who has the legal responsibility for the running of the service.

The ‘registered person’ is usually the provider themselves, or a named individual within their organisation. In order to be registered with CIW, the provider must demonstrate that the registered person is ‘fit and proper’ to run the service.

As part of the registration process, we may ask the provider to supply us with information about the registered person, or we may carry out our own checks. We will also interview the registered person as part of our assessment of their fitness and propriety.

The fitness and propriety assessment is designed to protect the people who use social care and childcare services, and to make sure that only those who are suitable are registered with us.

The interview is an opportunity for us tofind out more about the registered person and their ability to run the service. It also gives the registered person a chance to ask any questions they may have about their registration.

We understand that the interview can be daunting, but it is nothing to worry about. It is simply a conversation between our interviewer and the registered person, and we will do everything we can to put them at ease.

We would encourage the registered person to be honest with us and to ask any questions they may have. We would also encourage them to be open and transparent about any concerns they may have about their ability to meet the registration requirements.

We hope that this article has been of some help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
